(2) This site does not certify any product to be free of trace food allergens. We do no independent testing nor do we rely on others to independently verify information we receive from the manufacturer. Products referenced on this website we rely solely on the manufacturers' letter / ingredient label as to the ingredients or absence of ingredient and cross-contamination or absence of cross-contamination of their products.
(3) If you are interested in having any products analyzed or if you want to verify the presence of any allergens in a product you could contact the following laboratories.
(4) The lists of food products and other information provided by www.FoodsForAllergies.com are meant to be used as only a starting point for you to verify with each food manufacturing company if their product is safe for your type of allergy.
(5) Because a dedicated line can break down and another food could be run on the line possibly causing cross-contamination it makes it difficult to keep our Food Products list updated--please check FAAN's manufacturers' ALERGY ALERT Notices for recalled products due to undeclared food allergens due to cross-contamination or mislabeling.
In order to keep our website updated and accurate for your favorite foods and to list by allergens is very difficult to do. We believe as long as you "share" information on our "Share Information" page, we can list this information on "Your Favorite Food" page. This can be used as a starting point in your search for your plan to cope with severe food allergies and as a starting point to help you find foods you are allowed.
To verify their manufacturing and packing practices meets your individual needs, we recommend to call the food manufacturer, state your food allergies and ask about:
(1) If the product is run on a dedicated manufacturing and packing lines.
(2) The possibility of cross-contamination in the manufacturing process.
(3) The possibility of cross-contamination in the packing process.
(4) The possibility of trace amounts of any of your food allergies.
(5) If product is cultured on any foods you are allergic to.
(6) If the manufacturer receives letters of certification from their raw supplier as to the absence of trace food allergens.

You may want to ask the food manufacturer to send you an email confirming your phone conversation and check back every so often to see if anything has changed regarding their manufacturing / packing lines.
When deciding for yourself and verifying information that is provided directly from the food manufacturing companies, you will need to remember:
If you ask the same questions over several times (about four (4) times) and stress the severity of your or your child's food allergies, I have found the companies' answers do change from "no the product doesn't contain trace amounts" to "we can't be sure".
Personally, I am very leary of products which are not run on dedicated lines no matter how much cleaning takes place between batches. I feel I must decide on a case by case basis.
Unless you grow and farm your own food you really can't be 100% sure about anything. You can only get to the level of confidence that you've done everything you can to ensure your child's safety with the food products and then live with your decision to give it or not to give it to your child.
