_________________________________________________________________________________________________

(1)  We share / post information provided by you, that is, Your Favorite Food by Allergen, Sample Letters for 504 School Forms, and OTC and Prescription Drugs that may contain allergens and other information is posted.
(2)     We provide detailed information (from others like you),  free of charge so you can make your own workable and practical coping strategies.
(
3)  Our website is setup so that you can send information to us on  "Share Information" page.  "Sharers" of information share their successes, information on what has helped, and what has not, and lists of food products which may have been run on dedicated lines.
School forms, sample letters, over the counter medicines and prescription drugs that may contain allergens, your favorite supplements and vitamins, and food company addresses and phone numbers are listed on our website.
Other information you have learned along the way and information I am still learning will be posted as "Shared Information" on our website and updated monthly.  It is up to you to verify for accuracy any and all information presented on www.foodsForAllergies.com and to work with your doctor to find the best options available for dealing with and coping with food allergies and other allergies.  And remember just because my son may have eaten a food product with no problem doesn't mean you should automatically give it to your child.
To verify their manufacturing and packing practices meets your individual needs, we recommend to call the food manufacturer, state your food allergies and ask about:
(1)   If the product is run on a dedicated manufacturing and packing lines.
(2)   The possibility of cross-contamination in the manufacturing process.
(3)   The possibility of cross-contamination in the packing process.
(4)   The possibility of trace amounts of any of your food allergies.
(5)   If product is cultured on any foods you are allergic to.
(6)   If the manufacturer receives letters of certification from their raw supplier as to the absence of trace food allergens
.

When deciding for yourself and verifying information that is provided directly from the food manufacturing companies, you will need to remember:
If you ask the same questions over several times (about four (4) times) and stress the severity of  your or your child's food allergies, I have found the companies' answers do change from "no the product doesn't contain trace amounts" to "we can't be sure".
Personally, I am very leary of products which are not run on dedicated lines no matter how much cleaning takes place between batches.  I feel I must decide on a case by case basis.
A dedicated line can break down and another food could be run on the line possibly causing cross-contamination,it makes keeping an accurate and up to date shopping list of Your Favorite Foods by Allergen very difficult.  Please click on:
FAAN's manufacturers' ALERGY ALERT Notices or Kids with Food Allergies Food Allergy ALERTS  for a list of recalled products due to undeclared food allergens identified by manufacturers as mislabeled or cross-contaminated.

Unless you grow and farm your own food you really can't be 100% sure about anything.  You can only get to the level of confidence that you've done everything you can to ensure your child's safety with the food products and then live with your decision to give it or not to give it to your child.
Our goal, our mission, our purpose at www.FoodsForAllergies.com is to give you a starting point so that you will develop a working plan through our process of "Sharing" information and providing it to you.
